What is Core Training and why is is so Important?
Core stability relates to the bodily region bounded by the abdominal wall, the pelvis, the lower backand the diaphragm and its ability to stabilize the body during movement. The core is the centre of how effective, accurate and with ease a person is able to perform their day to day duties as well as the tasks expected of them in their occupations. A strong Core is a necessity within the CF as these muslces are utilzed in lifting, carrying a weight load or controlling your breathing during the task at hand.
What is a Core Stability Ball?
A core stability ball , or Swiss Ball (as it is also referred to), is a large inflatable ball that comes in various sizes (PSP offers 55cm - 75 cm balls) as one size does not fit all.
They are typically know for doing abdominal crunches on, yet they offer so much more as the ball itself, can be used as a weight bench to perform traditional strength training exercises.
The Core Ball is used to increase muscular strength, flexibility and promote cardiovascular health. It forces users to utilize their core muscular groups.
